And here we have one more dish from the middle eastern cuisine after Shawarma sandwich; and that is Hummus. Use it as a dip, spread or a main course meal, it is sure to make you go yum.. Though it appears to be quite beige and boring with its creamy-like texture but trust me.. It is one of the best things I have ever tasted. I’m sure you will love it too. And the best part.. it is sooooo simple.
- Boiled or Canned Chickpeas- 200g
- Sesame seeds- 100g
- Garlic- 2-3 cloves
- Olive oil
- Lemon juice- 1 tsp
- Black pepper
- Paprika powder for garnishing (optional)
Put the chickpeas, sesame seeds and garlic in the food processor along with salt, black pepper and lemon juice. Allow it to process well with some olive oil or water until it forms a smooth puree. Also check for the taste to adjust your seasoning accordingly.
Drizzle some more olive oil while serving and also garnish it with sprinkling some paprika powder to it.
And your Hummus is ready..
Serve it cool with pita bread.
